My 5 Most Anticipated Releases of 2021

I haven’t been reading very much lately; I didn’t complete my Goodreads challenge in 2020 and my physical TBR only grew, and grew, and grew… I felt entirely out of loop with new book releases – especially ones further into the future. I decided I’d do some research on Goodreads and guess what? There’s so many books I’m looking forward to! For the sake of this post, I thought and pondered on what are actually my most anticipated books of 2021. So here it is – in no particular order – my top 5!

All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody & Christine Lynn Herman

Remember when I said this post was in no particular order..? Well, that counts for all books on the list besides this one. All of Us Villains is definitely my number 1 most anticipated release of the year. First of all, I recently read Amanda Foody’s Queen of Volts and she utterly wrecked my heart and I both hate and LOVE her for it. And I’m really excited to read more from Christine. Also, this is a magical Hunger Games retelling-of-sorts?! Yes, please! It’s decided now; this will be my birthday present to myself, hahah! It releases right after my birthday, which makes it PERFECT!

The Infinity Courts by Akemi Dawn Bowman

I absolutely adore Starfish and Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman; there are my favorite contemporary books for sure. Akemi’s writing is absolutely beautiful and now she’s writing a… a… Goodness, I don’t even know what I’d call it!? Sci-Fi/Fantasy with rebels, technology..? Scratch that “no order to this list”-thing. The Infinity Courts is probably my second most anticipated release of the year.

A Vow so Bold & Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer

I’m halfway through this list and just thinking “everything on here is my most anticipated release!!!” because just reading and writing about these books makes me so excited. A Vow so Bold & Deadly is the third book in the Cursebreakers trilogy and I’ve already got the Audible edition on preorder. I listened to the first two books this way too and I absolutely loved them. Brigid mentions on Goodreads how it’s told from all four perspectives and Audible listed all four narrators as well so I simply cannot wait for this to come out!

Tales from the Hinterland by Melissa Albert

A book with all the fairytales from The Hazel Wood?! YES, PLEASE! I fell absolutely in love with The Hazel Wood when I read it first (here’s my review) and this book plays such a vital role in the story, it was so intriguing! I can’t believe we now actually get to read these fairytales ourselves. The book looks beautiful as well, and I already cannot wait to get lost in its magical-ness.

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo

Even though there are plenty of sequels I’m looking forward to this year, Rule of Wolves is the only one that’s made it onto the list. I LOVE the Grishaverse books and Leigh’s writing and the cover is simply stunning! I will definitely need to reread King of Scars, since it’s been a while and I’m quite forgetful, hahah! I don’t mind, though! It’s so much more fun to read a sequel when the story before is still fresh in my mind!

I’m so excited about all these books! I have a lot more anticipated releases, so worry not if you want to know all of them; I put them on a Goodreads shelf! It has all the books I’m looking forward to in 2021 and the next couple of years.
