2023; The Year of Starting Over
How does one start a new blog post after not writing since April 2021? Gosh, I hadn’t realized it had been that long! Let me tell you, I don’t even remember what I was doing at that time. I vaguely remember being burnt out from blogging and reading books… Thankfully, that’s all in the past. We’re in 2023, and I’d go as far as to say “new year, new me!” But I feel like I can. I’ve been gone for nearly two years! Before I get on with the new year, though, let me catch you up.

The Infinity Courts by Akemi Dawn Bowman | Blog Tour Review
My all-time favorite contemporary books are written by Akemi Dawn Bowman. I could read Starfish and Summer Bird Blue over and over and over again. Can you imagine my excitement when her SFF book The Infinity Courts was announced! Oh my god, I pretty much died! I don’t usually do reviews on blog tours because I’m afraid I’ll have to let the tour hosts and author down with a negative review, but I was so, so sure I’d love this one that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Here’s my 5-star review!

How The King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Back | OMG, It’s Illustrated!
Someone, please explain how I completely missed the fact that How The King of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories is illustrated?! Sure, the cover is gorgeous, but the inside is as well?! *squeals* I read this beautiful little book in just a morning and was utterly delighted by its stories and illustrations. Holly Black created such a wonderful addition to the Folk of Air series, I’m so, so sad it’s really over now… Here’s my review!

February Gratitude Journal
February has been all about practising gratitude. I learned a long time ago and being positive and thankful for the things in your life can be a game changer when it comes to mental health. It’s not some magical cure for depression and anxiety, but it does help when it comes to getting through bad days. And it makes your good days so much better as well! I’m actively working on my mental health this year, so I thought it’d be interesting to see what effect practicing gratitude had on my day to day life. Here’s what I learned!

The Anti-TBR Tag | Books I Won’t Be Reading
It’s been forever since I’ve done a book tag! I came across this super interesting “Anti-TBR Tag” recently and I simply had to do it! You’re Anti-TBR is basically a list of books you won’t be reading, like… ever. We always talk about the books we read and loved, but we never really speak about the books we don’t want to read. It’s better to spend our time on positivity, right? Anti-TBRs aren’t necessarily negative, though. So today I’m answering the questions of the Anti-TBR tag!

Books To Get You Into Reading
Reading hasn’t always come easily for me – and it still doesn’t. I either read obsessively or not at all for weeks or even months. If I want to get back into reading, I usually know what kind of book to pick up and what to avoid. But what if you don’t know? Or what if you’re not into reading yet, but you want to get into it? You’re in luck because I’m here to help. Here are some books – in different genres – to get you (back) into reading!

Self-Care in 2021 | Working on Better Mental & Physical Health
Self-care is one of the most important things in my life. In anyone’s life, really. When it comes to mental health, it’s so important to regularly take time just for you; to relax, to pamper yourself, to simply do something you enjoy because it makes you happy. Since we’re stuck in this pandemic anyway, and I’m not working much this time of year, I’ve decided to really focus on self-care, what it means to me and how I’m including it in my life this year.

5 Favorite Fictional Romances For Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day! I don’t celebrate at all; I’m single and not at all yet ready to mingle – which I’m perfectly fine with. I’d rather enjoy a fictional romance, thank you very much! Preferably enemies to lovers, fake dating, or two people being stuck together in some kind of way. Although I enjoy any kind of romance, really. Since it’s Valentine’s, I thought it’d be fun to share some of my favorite fictional romances. Here they are!
