Books I Need to Read in ’21
A few weeks ago, I wrote about my most anticipated releases of 2021. I’m so excited about these books to come out! However, I really do need to start reading the unread books on my bookshelf as well. There are so many of them, it drives me insane! I was always the kind of person to finish an unread book before I bought another. Unfortunately, I’ve been behind for years now, and that needs to change. Here’s the books I want/need to read in 2021!
Netgalley ARCs
I have six unread Netgalley ARCs waiting for a review, and two I wasn’t able to review before. My ratio’s at 69% – which isn’t too bad, I guess – but I just feel so… asdfghjkl about having unread books on there. Plus, I want to start requesting new books! These are my top priority, but I don’t want to read them all one after another, cause I’d lose my mind if I only read to write reviews. Anyway, the books on Netgalley are;
- Sing Me Forgotten by Jessica S. Olson (for the blog tour, yay!)
- A Golden Fury by Samanta Cohoe (I was on the blog tour!)
- The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk
- Hush by Dylan Farrow
- Fable by Adrienne Young
- The Girl of Hawthorn & Glass by Adan Jerreat-Poole
- Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik (inactive – couldn’t review at the time, I own 2 physical copies now!)
- The Complete Book of Dreams by Stephanie Gailing (inactive – review copy expired in the app! – boo!!)
Unread Books on my Shelf
There are SO MANY unread books on my physical bookshelf right now! And the worst of it? The whole shelf of books I bought during Amazon’s Black Friday sale in 2019. Yes, nineteen(!!!) I did read a bunch of them, but I think the majority is still left unread. There’s too many to list, so here are just a few;
- Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
- Sightwitch by Susan Dennard
- Sky In The Deep by Adrienne Young
- Descendant of the Crane by Joan He
- The Traitor’s Kiss by Erin Beaty
But wait… There’s even more! Shamefully, I still haven’t read Vengeful by V.E Schwab, and it’s been on my shelf forever! I also still need to read A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown, Ghosts of The Shadow Market by Cassandra Clare, and The Reckoning of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin.
Backlist TBR
I guess I better start reading because there are so many more books on my TBR that I don’t own yet. They’re books that I’ve been wanting to read for a while but never got to, and sequels to books I read in the past few years but aren’t “new” anymore. The list is too long yet again, so I’ll only name a few;
- Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
- Iron Heart by Nina Varella
- The Deck of Omens by Christine Lynn Herman
- Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan
- How The King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black
I have so much work to do if I want to finish all of these by the end of the year… Hahah!
What’s on your 2021 TBR? And what do you recommend I read first? Let me know!
