Top Ten Ten Tuesday: Books Set Outside the US

 The lovely people at The Broke And The Bookish came up with another awesome topic for Top Ten Tuesday! This week is all about books set outside the US. I have to say I don’t read that many books that are set in the US, to begin with. I sort of found a loophole, too! Many of the books I read aren’t set in our world at all since they’re fantasy. Basically, this list was easy peasy for me!

Ten Books Set Outside The US (I don’t know about you but sooo much of what I read is set in the US and I love finding new recs of stuff set outside of it!)

1. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Since this takes place in London, it’s obviously not set in the US! I loved reading about Victorian London!

2. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

This one starts out in America, but then they travel to England (Wales? Gotta admit I’m not too sure)… Definitely not set in the US, though.

3. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

England, again! It’s either the US or the UK, isn’t it? Hehe!

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

And there’s that loophole! This one doesn’t even take place in our world!

5. The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows

Another great fantasy book that doesn’t take place in our world!

6. Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

Yeah, definitely doesn’t take place in the US…

7. The Selection by Kiera Cass

The main character might be called America, it’s still not where this book takes place! (Or does it? It could be the US of the future… Hmm.)

8. Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Another amazing fantasy novel that doesn’t take place in America, because it’s not in our world!

9. The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa

Some parts of this story take place in America, but another part takes place in the Faerie realms! Since I’m running out of books that aren’t set in America, I kind of needed to add this one, hehe!

10. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

Again, this one is partially set in America, but also in the UK, Russia and the Atlantic Ocean! (I think it’s the Atlantic, anyway!)
