Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare
In preparation of the release of Lord of Shadows, I decided to read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy before rereading Lady Midnight. I’ve heard many people say that this companion to TMI is best read before the Dark Artifices, and I have to agree. I’m so glad I read this book! These 10 stories are so valuable to TDA. It’s not necessary to read them all, but I really suggest you do! Beware of SPOILERS in this review!

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
Happy Lord of Shadows release day! As you might know, for some reason unknown to me, I received my copy of the book eleven days ago. Back then I was still in the middle of Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy and my reread of Lady Midnight, so I only started reading three days ago. Let me tell you something: Lord of Shadows is absolutely incredible. I’ll tell you all about it in my spoiler free review!

The Shadowhunter’s Codex by Cassandra Clare & Joshua Lewis
The Shadowhunter’s Codex is a companion to the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare and I read it months ago. Then I went on a break and never finished my review… Aaaanyway, the book doesn’t really have a plot like the other Shadowhunter books because it’s quite literally a fictional study guide. The Codex has information on anything mentioned in the Shadowhunter books, from laws, to history, to runes! It’s a must read for any massive Shadowhunter fan, but it’s not necessary to understand the plot of the series. I wanted to read it because it’s mentioned in most of the books and I was just super interested!

Playlist: The Infernal Devices
Some people listen to music while they read, others don’t. I’m one of those people who always listens to music. 8Tracks was always a really great way to get lost in a book while also discovering new music, but they made some big changes and their iOS app became useless in the Netherlands. I was reading Clockwork Angel at the time and I needed some music to listen to, so I decided to make my own playlist!
