A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

There’s an All Time Low song* that starts with “Stop fucking around with my emotions.” And that’s 110% how I feel towards this book! Oh, my goodness, what a crazy ride reading this book was. I’m being completely honest here: V.E. Schwab is definitely my all time favourite author. This is the fourth book I read of hers and they’re all just so incredible! If you’d like to know more of my thoughts on A Gathering of Shadows, read it in my spoiler free review!

    Heartless by Marissa Meyer

You don’t often see negative reviews on my blog. In fact, I think this is the first or second one! (Except for those on Goodreads, of course). Heartless just really wasn’t my thing at all. The book is absolutely stunning on the outside – both with and without the dust jacket! – but the inside, unfortunately, isn’t. Luckily, it’s rare that I read books that I don’t 100% enjoy, but it happens sometimes. I got the book in a Celebrate Books Box last year and I finally got around to read it. Read more about my thoughts in this spoiler free review.

    Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova

Labyrinth Lost was a pleasant surprise. My expectations were sky-high and it just wasn’t what I thought it’d be. Eventually I lowered those expectations and the book got better and I just love it so much! Zoraida Córdova has crafted a very interesting story with an incredibly magical world and intriguing characters. Would you like to more? Read all about it in my spoiler free review.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Woah, woah, woah. Let me just try to wrap my head around this incredible book I only picked up a few days ago. Oh wait, I’m sorry, I can’t. A Darker Shade of Magic is such a beautiful, incredible peace or work by the One and Only V.E. Schwab! If you’ve only read the Monsters of Verity duology of hers so far, prepare yourself for the masterpiece called ADSOM. As always, my review is spoiler free!

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows

I read The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows at the end of 2015, which was way before I even started my blog! I didn’t love it as much as I do now but I found myself falling in love with the story in anticipation of its sequel. I never read it again, but it was still one of my all time favourite books. Without spoiling anything, the OTP of this book is the OTPs of OTPs. If that makes sense, ha! Anyway, I finally took some time to reread the book, so better late than never: here’s my spoiler free review.

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass is one of my all time favourite series, but I hadn’t read The Assassin’s Blade yet! The bindup is all about the events leading up to the first book and it was so wonderful to read about the characters that appear later on in the series! Want to know what I think about the five novellas? Read about it in my spoiler free review.

The Happiest Book Birthday to The Disappearances by Emily Bain Murphy! (And a very happy Fourth of July to my fellow Americans!) Before I continue with this review, a HUGE thank you is in order: I got an ARC of this wonderful book from HMH Teen through Netgalley, so thank you, thank you, thank you! The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus has been on my TBR for nearly a year! I started listening to the audiobook, but it wasn’t really for me, so I got the book and finally got to read it this month! This book is unlike anything I ever expected, but it was incredible and magical and obviously, it takes place in a circus! Add the late 1800’s/early 1900’s to the mix and taa-daa; one wonderful book for your enjoyment! As always, my review is spoiler free.

Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab

Happy Book Birthday to Victoria Schwab’s Our Dark Duet! Oh my goodness, you guys! I read this book over two weeks ago and it was so terribly difficult to keep spoilers to myself! Our Dark Duet is absolutely incredible. It also left a gaping hole in my heart because the Monsters of Verity series has now come to an end… Don’t worry if you haven’t read the book yet, this review is spoiler free!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

In preparation of the release of Lord of Shadows, I decided to read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy before rereading Lady Midnight. I’ve heard many people say that this companion to TMI is best read before the Dark Artifices, and I have to agree. I’m so glad I read this book! These 10 stories are so valuable to TDA. It’s not necessary to read them all, but I really suggest you do! Beware of SPOILERS in this review!
